Terms of collaboration

Last updated: 4 September 2026 · These terms apply when you create a client account or start a project with spinSVG.

1. Who this is for

spinSVG provides custom Lottie, SVG, and website animation as a freelance / sole-trader service. By registering or submitting a project brief you confirm you are acting as a business customer or otherwise legally able to enter into this collaboration (minimum age: 18).

2. Client account

A free client account lets you manage briefs, discuss the work, review proposals, download deposit invoices, and track project status on this site. You are responsible for keeping your login details secure and for activity under your account. Guest briefs (email-only) do not create an account; replies stay on email.

3. Briefs, proposals, and scope

Submitting a brief is a request to collaborate — not yet a binding order. I review the brief and may send a written proposal (price, timeline, and notes). Work that needs a deposit starts only after you accept the proposal and the agreed deposit is confirmed. Changes to scope after acceptance may require a revised quote or timeline.

4. Payment

Prices in proposals are in USD unless stated otherwise. Payment is typically split: a deposit invoice to start production, then a final balance invoice after delivery. Invoices use an English text / German layout without VAT where the small-business exemption (§ 19 UStG) applies. You pay by European bank transfer. Extra agreed fees are confirmed in writing before they are due.

5. Delivery and revisions

Delivery dates in a proposal are targets based on the agreed scope. If a date needs to move, I will propose an extension in the project thread for you to accept or discuss. Reasonable revision rounds follow what we agreed in the proposal; larger changes are treated as new scope.

6. Your data — storage, use, and transfer

To run the client panel and deliver the project I store and process account data (name, email, date of birth, optional company / website), project briefs, messages, files you upload, payment preferences, and invoice details. Legal basis: performing the contract and related steps before a contract (GDPR Art. 6(1)(b)), and legitimate interests in securing the service (Art. 6(1)(f)).

Data stays with the systems used to host this site, send transactional email, and generate invoices. It is not sold. I may share what is necessary with your bank for transfers and with processors that host email or infrastructure. Details are in the Privacy policy.

By creating an account you consent to this storage and processing for collaboration. You can ask for access, correction, or deletion of your account data where the law allows — note that invoices and records needed for tax / bookkeeping may be kept for the legally required period even after an account is closed.

7. Intellectual property

Until full payment for the agreed deliverables, rights stay with spinSVG. After payment, you receive the usage rights described in the proposal (typically use of the delivered animation files in your product / site). Portfolio display of anonymised or credited work may be agreed separately.

9. Ending a project or account

Either side may stop a discussion that has not been accepted as a paid project. After deposit or production start, cancellation and refunds follow what we put in writing for that project. You can delete your client account from Account settings; open production work may block deletion until the project is finished or settled.
